Personally, I admit when I first launched my 1st ever, crappy looking website, I hired an SEO guy to go through, clean up my coder(I'm no coder) to help with SEO issues and some other basic things. Now I realize that I really over paid for what they did
I'm the type of businessperson that is hands on in all my businesses. I like to learn every aspect of my business so if things need to get done I can always do them myself instead of having to count on others. SEO is the same to me. I think there is alot to keep up on like new SEO techniques etc but I still feel pretty good on how I am able to get top ranking...or close to it, with most websites I care about.
So fess up... whats your SEO experience?
I have not paid for help with SEO. I have paid for bad content, that was a mistake and waste of money. I pay attention to ranking for my keywords. I don't really know if they are the best keywords to be watching though.
Most of my linking comes from signature links while trying to make good posts on other forums, and encouraging the same out of the members in the forums I admin.

I used to use overture for zoning in on good keywords, but now that that is gone, its hard to find what works really. Anyone have any other tools like that to find which keywords are top searches???

If one want to take SEO service, one has to take it upto the existence of website. If you feel cheated, call back that person once again and get solution of your problem. Anyways Thanks. You can have the best website ever from a technical point of view but if the user experience is bad, then your goal conversions will be rubbish and your bounce rate will be extremely high. Whats the point of having your site at the top of search engines if it doesn’t do anything?
It also affects repeat visits, high bounce rate and low repeat visits will knock your site off the top spot in favour of a site thats got its user experience right.

No, I have never hired any of the SEO company uptill now for my site becasue I do manually all work of the SEO by my self and if I can't able to do that particular work of SEO then I take the help of the online tutorials as well as read articles.
Well, I never tried it. It is not easy to hire one SEO companies. Before hire any consultancies, We have to analyze its whole work very well. So We will also hire employees for our firm.
I spent a lot of time to learn search engine optimization, then, in practice, my projects and clients with whom I worked. Although much of what seems simple enough, I agree that it is on the road, because I have many years to learn.
