Is anyone interested in taking the owner to court for pocketing the money (instead of refunding) and not giving the support/updates he was supposed to?

Why you want to drag the phpcow to the court, If you don't like it then leave it , there are lot of other free stuff available on the internet, use that. If you have paid phpcow more than you should pay then you should surely carry it out further.
